Overview
The system can be configured to allow approvers to edit a proposal while it is at their step in the workflow.
Who can edit proposals?
Admins can edit a proposal while it is in the workflow. Approvers can be given permission to edit a proposal while it is in the workflow.
How can I allow an approver to edit proposals?
Each step in the workflow can be configured to allow users to edit proposals at their step.
To allow approvers to edit proposal:
- Click System Settings in the left navigation panel.
- Click on the Workflow tab in the Workflow Settings menu.
- Click on a workflow step.
- Click the Proposal editable by approver(s) at this step radio button.
Can I configure fields to be filled out by an approver?
Yes. Form fields can be configured to be mandatory at a step in the workflow.
To configure steps to be mandatory in workflow
- Contact Kuali Support to mark fields as mandatory in workflow.
- Click System Settings in the left navigation panel.
- Click on the Workflow tab in the Workflow Settings menu.
- Click on a workflow step.
- Click the Required at some point in workflow radio button.
Edit a Proposal
How do I access a proposal in workflow?
There are a few ways to access proposals awaiting your approval.
To access a proposal from the user dashboard:
- Click My Dashboard in the navigation panel.
- In the "My Action List" section on the right, click the title of the proposal to approve or click View All to view your entire action list.
To access a proposal from your action list:
- From any screen in Curriculum Management, click Action List in the application header.
- Use search or sorting to find the proposal to approve.
- Click anywhere inline with the proposal to approve.
To access a proposal from an approval request notification:
- From the approval request notification, click the View Course button.
How do I edit a proposal?
- Click Edit in the right panel.
- Make a change to a field on the form.
- Click the Leave Edit Mode button.
How do I know which fields are required?
Fields that are mandatory at a certain step in the workflow will be marked with an icon. If the field is mandatory at an approval step, and the approver tries to approve, they will see a validation error and the proposal will not move forward.
