Content Sets are used to organize Content Items within your catalog. They are not stand-alone items that display content, but rather house a grouping of Content Items. They can appear as either a nested menu or list of links. A common usage of Content Items may be to group all of your Departments together under a single Content Set.
Create a Content Set
- To create a new Content Set, start by selecting the catalog you'll be working within.
- Click on the Content Sets tab.
- Click on the New Content Set button.
- Enter a title for the new Content Set. The title will be the clickable link text that appears within the navigation. The field will save automatically as you work.
- Now you're ready to add Content Items to the Content Set!
- Once you've created your Content Set, you can navigate back to the Content Sets menu by clicking Content Sets from the breadcrumb under the tabs at the top of the page.
Add Content Items to a Content Set
- To add Content Items to a Content Set, start by selecting the catalog you'll be working within.
- Click on the Content Sets tab.
- On the Content Sets page, all of the existing Content Sets will be listed. By default, the Content Sets will be listed in alphanumeric order. There are different options available for quickly locating a specific item:
- The Search can be used to locate an item by title. The search will begin narrowing down the list as you type.
Note: The Search will only look through the information contained within the title field.- The drop-down arrows that appear at the top of each column can be used to adjust the ordering consideration.
- Click on the name of the Content Set you would like to add Content Items to.
- To the right of each item will be two additional icons. These will provide the option to either Duplicate (
) or Delete (
) the item.
- Beneath the heading for Content Items in Set, click on the box to Add Content Item to Set.
- Select the Content Item you want to include within the Content Set. The search can be used to help locate items in long lists.
- Each item that is added will be placed under the Add section in the order they were added.
- If you would like to reorder the Content Items, click the reorder icon (
) to drag and drop the item up or down within the list.
- To remove a Content Item, click the Delete icon (
) to remove it from the Content Set
Note: Deleting a Content Item from a Content Set does NOT delete the Content Item from the catalog. It will only remove it from the list of items within the navigation. - If you would like to reorder the Content Items, click the reorder icon (
- Once added all of the items to the Content Set, you can navigate back to the Content Sets menu by clicking Content Sets from the breadcrumb under the tabs at the top of the page.
Edit a Content Set
- To edit a Content Set, start by selecting the catalog you'll be working within.
- Click on the Content Sets tab.
- On the Content Sets page, all of the existing Content Sets will be listed. By default, the Content Sets will be listed in alphanumeric order. There are different options available for quickly locating a specific item:
- The Search can be used to locate an item by title. The search will begin narrowing down the list as you type.
Note: The Search will only look through the information contained within the title field.- The drop-down arrows that appear at the top of each column can be used to adjust the ordering consideration.
- You can adjust the title, or the Content Items within the list as needed.
- You may also decide to enable or disable the nested navigation, by checking/unchecking the box next to "Use content items as nested navigation items".
- Nested navigation allows for the Content Items within a Content Set to display under a collapsible menu, using the Content Set title as the overall heading.
Note: Changes to this configuration will be live immediately and appear within your catalog. Do not make changes to this behavior unless you are sure you want to change your navigational display.
- Once you've completed your edits, you can navigate back to the Content Sets menu by clicking Content Sets from the breadcrumb under the tabs at the top of the page.
Delete a Content Set
- To delete an entire Content Set, start by selecting the catalog you'll be working within.
- Click on the Content Sets tab.
- On the Content Sets page, all of the existing Content Sets will be listed. By default, the Content Sets will be listed in alphanumeric order. There are different options available for quickly locating a specific item:
- The Search can be used to locate an item by title. The search will begin narrowing down the list as you type.
Note: The Search will only look through the information contained within the title field.- The drop-down arrows that appear at the top of each column can be used to adjust the ordering consideration.
- Click the Delete icon (
) to right of the Content Set's title.
- A confirmation message will appear asking you to confirm the delete. If you wish to continue with deleting the Content Set, click Delete Set. If you do not want to proceed, click Cancel.
Note: Deleting an item is a permanent action, and can not be undone.
- When you are done deleting Content Sets, you can navigate back to the Content Sets menu by clicking Content Sets from the breadcrumb under the tabs at the top of the page.
