Within the System Settings, under the Config Settings heading, you'll find a list of menus that are used to manage the forms associated with each of the item types available in Curriculum Management (CM).
CM includes five standard forms: courses, programs, experiences, specializations and policies.
Each form is designed to facilitate the creation, approval and referencing of its specific curricular data and as such has unique functionality built in to each to satisfy the following designated use cases:
- Courses
- An element of a program that includes data like credits, learning outcomes, prerequisites, etc.
- Programs
- A major or program of study encompassing courses, and in certain circumstances, specializations and experiences as well
- Specializations
- Curricula related to a program that may share a large percentage of requirements but has specific elements tailored to an individual emphasis or specialized area of study (e.g., MBA with an emphasis in accounting)
- Experiences
- Nonstandard curricula that may or may not be included as part of a program or study (e.g., study abroad, work study, etc.)
- Policies
- Institutional, departmental, etc. policies that require a governance process to approve their content (e.g., non-discrimination policies, admissions policies, housing policies, etc.)
Each of the options available in this category relate to a different item type and allow you to support the forms available - determining which fields are available or visible. Each form has some configuration options available for Admins, allowing the modification for field labels, descriptions, or help text; but additional changes will need to be requested from our Support Team.
