Yes! Users can be assigned to any number of roles. For example, a user may be assigned to the department chair role as well as the university curriculum committee role.
In cases where a user is assigned multiple roles and those roles are assigned different permissions, the highest level of permission will be respected for that user. For example, if the user has been assigned the ability to access admin settings in one role, but not the other, the highest level of permissions (the ability to access admin settings) will be enforced.
